Bobby Broome, founder of Bobby Broome Aquatics is a graduate of Grambling State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio and Television. Bobby Broome is one of the most popular and accomplished swim instructors now living and working in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. Simply, Bobby is a really good swim instructor with a very high rate of success. Now, he is sharing his successful methods with the world. As a subject matter expert in aquatics, Bobby was a Senior Associate in Health and Safety/ Research and Development at the National American Red Cross in Washington, DC. After leaving the Red Cross in 2009, Bobby reignited his swim school in Washington, DC. His swim school began in 2001 in Southern California and continues there every June. Bobby currently teaches an average of 95 to 100 students of all ages and levels each session all year round. Annually, Bobby conducts in service training and safety presentations for park districts, youth organizations and corporations. He teaches American Red Cross Health and Safety courses such as Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, and more. He is a subject matter expert in aquatics and the author of “Learn to Swim in 8 Lessons or Less” and "The Parent's Guide To: Water Safety And Swim Instruction". Prior to establishing his aquatics credentials, Bobby worked in the motion picture industry primarily for 24 years. First, matriculating as a production assistant, then as an assistant cameraman and finally building a body of work as a Producer/Director/Cameraman/Editor. Marrying the two careers has resulted in what is presented here at BobbyBroomeAquatics.com.

The 2017 WINTER SESSION starts Wednesday January 4, 2017 and ends Saturday March 11, 2017. The lesson times and are the same as the fall with maybe a few small modifications based on the demand. The schedule on the LESSONS page will post after the FALL SESSION is under way. However, you can call now to lock in your lesson time. 818-795-8810.
Summer session classes are twice a week Tuesday's and Thursday's and Wednesday's and Friday's. Saturday classes, only once a week. Summer 2017 sessions will be posted in the Spring of 2017. See the LESSONS page for info and times and to register and pay for classes or call 818-795-8810.
The fall, winter and spring sessions lessons are once a week for eight weeks plus two weeks for makeup classes, Wed, Thur. or Fri, 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm. Saturday's 11:00 am - 3:30 pm. The summer sessions are twice a week for four weeks plus one week for makeup classes. Tue. & Thur. or Wed. & Fri. 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm and Saturday's 11:00 am - 3:30 pm.
The next scheduled American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors course begins May 28, 2017 and ends May 31, 2017. Sunday11:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Go to the TRAINING page for more information and to pay for the course.
The next scheduled Lifeguard Training course for the practical skills begins Friday May 26, 2017 at 10:00 am and ends Saturday if necessary June 27, 2017. The online blended learning part of the course starts May 12, 2017. It takess about 8 hours to complete the online part of the course. You have 2 weeks to complete the online part. As an American Red Cross Authorized Provider, I can run Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Training and most health and safety courses for groups of four or more upon request with atlease two weeks advance notice.
