Bobby Broome is a graduate of Grambling State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio and Television. He is a subject matter expert in aquatics. He is the owner of Bobby Broome Aquatics and Bobby Broome Aquatics Publishing. He is the author of “Learn to Swim in 8 Lessons or Less” and "The Parent's Guide To: Water Safety And Swim Instruction". He recently shared his talents and expertise with the American National Red Cross as a technical writer and team member playing a large part in the revision of the current Swimming and Water Safety Program, which was released in February 2009. Bobby currently teaches private and group swimming classes in Falls Church, VA and Washington DC. He taught swimming and health and safety classes at California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, CA and safety classes at California State University Long Beach. He served as Aquatics Director at the East Valley YMCA in North Hollywood, CA and Lakeside Golf Club in Burbank, CA. Before moving to VA, Bobby worked as the Lifeguard Supervisor at the Larry Walkup Aquatics Center in Los Alamos, NM.
Currently, Bobby holds current certifications as American Red Cross lifeguard training instructor, water safety instructor trainer, first aid/CPR/AED instructor, lifeguard training, professional CPR/AED, first aid, oxygen administration, safety training for swim coaches and aquatics facilities operator (AFO).
Between 1982 and 2001, Bobby worked primarily in the motion picture and television industry. In 1989 he started Clean Sweep Productions and produced, directed, photographed, and edited scores of music videos, commercials, gospel, and sports productions.

The summer 8 lesson programs at the Capitol Hill location are as follows: Summer Session 1 - June 19, 2012 to July 14, 2012; Summer session 2 - July 24, 2012 to August 18, 2012; Summer Session 3 - August 28, 2012 to September 21, 2012 . The summer sessions are twice a week, Tue & Thur or Wed & Fri, 2:00 - 6:00. Saturday remains once a week. The Fall, Winter and Spring sessions lessons are once a week, Wed, Thur or Fri, 3:30 - 6:00. Next American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course starts the Sunday May 27, 2012 through Thursday May 31, 2012. Must be 15 years old. Sunday through Tuesday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Includes First Aid, CPR and AED for the professional lifeguard. Fee $325.00. Go to the TRAINING page.
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors course starts Monday May 21, 2012 and runs through Friday May 25, 2012. Monday and Tuesday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Must be 16 years old. Fee $300.00. Go to the TRAINING page.
